Natural History: It is a nocturnal species, although it has also been observed foraging during the day; generally uses the ambush mechanism to hunt, although it rarely uses active foraging
General distribution: It occurs in the tropical lowlands of most of South America east of the Andes. It is present in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, where it is found from sea level to 1,585 m above sea level.
Distribution in Ecuador: In Ecuador it has been reported in the provinces of Sucumbíos, Pastaza, Orellana, Napo, Morona Santiago and Zamora Chinchipe.
