Mariloginsa, as a business policy, has begun to develop a group of lines of action, aimed at supporting from its competences the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives set by the United Nations.

Within this framework, the #mariloginsaVERDE research project arises, aimed at strengthening capacities and implementing strategies in response to the objectives: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Action and Protection of Life of Terrestrial Ecosystems

Mariloginsa Verde is developed on the Río Napo’s banks, Ecuador, our company’s area of influence, through the development of logistics operations in the transfer of heavy and oversized cargo, in support of the energy industries in the Amazon region. Although the project is a business initiative, it links neighboring communities in the development of actions for environmental conservation and protection, in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.

This initiative also includes the participation of a group of experts from various branches of science, among which are biologists: specialists in botany, ichthyology, entomology, herpetology, mammalogy, ornithology and environmental management, as well as logistics transport’s experts, naval engineering, risk management, communication among others.

The study has 3 phases:

  • Phase I: Collection of biotic information, baseline and geo-references.
  • Phase II: Information processing, elaboration of environmental management plans, determination of sensitive areas, risk identification, elaboration of emergency plans, development of early warning systems.
  • Phase III: Results’ socialization, strengthening of local and business capacities, updating of continuous improvement process.
